5 Reasons Why you should visit MucsicFest 2019!

Posted: July 04, 2019 by Cynthia Rundatz

1.    So Much FREE Music! There are more than 500 performances across 10 days at Musikfest. Most of the music is free! Each evening there are headline bands but all day and throughout the evening you can wander around and hear any kind of music that you can image!

2.    A Wide Variety of Music: Including AlternativeBluesFamily/ChildrenClassicalCountryFolkFunk, Indie, Jazz, Oldies, Polka, Pop, R&B/Soul, Rap/Hip Hop, Rock, World...

3.    Food Vendors! I’m up to 35 different vendors and counting. Everything from “Aw Shucks” roasted corn through Thai Jasmine.

4.    18 Different Music Venues: Some inside and some outside and all within walking distance of one another

5.    MusikFest Collectable Steins: Ok – not really a stein but still it’s collectable. In 1984, the first Musikfest Mug was not a mug at all, but instead a small cup and pitcher. The design evolved over the years to the colorful 24 ounce insulated mug that we recognize today, each year celebrating the spirit of Bethlehem and Musikfest with dynamic artwork. Now in its 34th year, Musikfest attracts roughly 1 million visitors, and you can spot vintage mugs among new ones in every venue.

Named the “Best Music Festival in North America” by USA Today’s, Musikfest was founded by the nonprofit ArtsQuest in 1984 and today offers more than 500 free music and art performances at 18 venues, making it one of the largest music festivals in the nation. The festival, which features free music on 16 stages, is made possible thanks in part to the support of 1,600 volunteers, 3,300 supporting ArtsQuest Members and more than 150 corporate partners.

Musikfest takes place throughout Bethlehem’s Historic District, as well as the SteelStacks arts and cultural campus located on the site of the city’s former Bethlehem Steel plant. In addition to hundreds of free concerts, the event presents 40-plus food vendors, 45 artisans, engaging street performers and unique art attractions from around the globe like the 2019 Prismatica art trail coming from Canada.

Musikfest hours are Aug. 2, 5-11 p.m., and Aug. 3-11, noon-11 p.m. To see the complete list of performers, visit Stay on top of all the latest festival news and announcements by following Musikfest at and
